Cypress, CA (February 10, 1997) -- JVC Information Products of America today introduced the JVC Wireless Laptop LAN, designed to link laptop users to their Local Area Networks. Now outside sales staff, visiting remote office personnel or telecommuniting professionals have the ability to wirelessly connect directly to the LAN.

Offering true Ethernet 10Mbps throughput, the JVC Wireless Laptop LAN provides the same speed and performance as standard wired 10Base-T cable connections.

The JVC Wireless Laptop LAN is easy to install and use. Simply load the PCMCIA Type II card and drivers, point the laptop toward the Mobile unit, and the wireless connection to the LAN is complete.

The system comes with either a left or right PCMCIA card, a Mobile unit which is connected to the network backbone and a T-Adaptor that provides standard DC power to the Mobile Unit. The PCMCIA drivers support NDIS, ODI, Windows 95, Windows NT, and MS LanMan.

The JVC Wireless Laptop LAN, at a suggested retail price of $395 for PC Card, $315 for the Mobile Unit and $45 for the T-Adapter, is available through authorized distributors and resellers.
